ADDITION FAQ’S

Q: What do I need to do before the job starts?

A: Please have all valuables such as knick-knacks, pictures, furniture, etc. away from the working area’s so there is no chance of breakage or any sort of damage. We cannot be held responsible for anything that falls or breaks. Please note that when work begins there will be drywall dust. If this is a concern, we can take extra care at an additional cost.

Q: What kind of arrangements need to be made to get the workers in the house?

A: Typically we make arrangements for a key or, set times to get in. The easier we can get in the quicker the work can be done.

Q: Will there be damage to my yard?

A: Yes. Typically we will have to dig out the yard and re-grade to rough grade. The homeowner will have to re-seed.

Q: How long will the job take?

A: Jobs can vary pending on side and specialty. Pending your specific needs, we will communicate. Unfortunately, due to special orders and unforeseen possibilities, sometimes the job might take longer than expected.

Q: Will there be a dumpster on site?

A: Yes. We like to keep the dumpster as close to the job as possible. We do have some flexibility.

Q: Do I need to board my animals?

A: We are extremely flexible. Depending on your animal’s specific needs, you will not have to board your animals. We would like to make sure that your animals are put away in an area where they cannot escape from the house if we need to go in and out.

Q: How will the cold and wet be kept out while the addition is going on?

A: We try to keep working outside until last. However, sometimes we don’t have work from the inside first. If we do, we will set up temporary shelter or door.

Q: Can you do the addition in the winter with us living here?

A: Yes, we do them all the time. We will protect or build temporary shelters as needed.

Q: Who do I call when I need something?

A: You can contact George at (585) 750-5592. Please understand we will answer your calls when you call so if it is after office hours please be considerate. You can also reach the owner Jan at (585) 303-1340.

Q: What is the warranty for the work being done?

A: Patriot Construction has a 1-year warranty on all service work for the job done. As well as any additional product warranty.

ROOFING FAQ’S

Q: How should I prepare my house for the construction?

A: Make sure anything valuable you have is off the walls and shelves. These items may possibly fall and break when there is work being done. Make sure that all vehicles are out of the way.

Q: How much debris will there be and what am I expected to clean?

A: There is always going to be some nails once we clean up the job site. This varies from job to job. We do our best by taking a magnet to try and collect all the nails. If you are not happy with the clean-up please contact us and we can have someone come back out to pick up the remaining debris.

Q: Where should the dumpster be?

A: The dumpster should be as close to the job as possible. This will allow us the easiest access to throw debris away. We try not to put any dumpster on the lawn. The dumpster is a roll out dumpster that is placed on boards.

Q: Can I throw stuff into the dumpster?

A: Not until we are done with the job. There could be an additional charge depending on what you throw in the dumpster and the final cost of the weight of the dumpster.

Q: What should I expect with my shrubs and other plants?

A: Normally, we use a general coverage of your landscaping. We cannot guarantee that things will not be damaged. Special arrangements will have to be made to protect special plants. This can be done at an additional cost.

Q: Do I have to be home while the work is going on?

A: No, however we do need access to an exterior power outlet. Sometimes circuits can pop so their might need to be access if a circuit does pop.

Q: If a fuse pops who is responsible?

A: Patriot Construction is not responsible for any fuses that pop. It is assumed exterior plugs are up to code.

Q: What should I do with my pets?

A: Excessive amounts of pet waste should be cleaned up by the homeowner before the job starts. Some pets are highly sensitive to large banging and noise. It would be the homeowner’s responsibility to decide whether or not they should make arrangements for their pets depending on the pet’s personality.
